Author Topic: So the ender's game movie came out  (Read 1797 times)

read the book years ago and totally forgot the storyline aside from the twist, so it was p good

people arent going to see it in theaters because the producer (or director idk) is like anti-gay
what a bunch of cigarettes lol
no, that's orson scott card, the original author. he's a raving lunatic.
TOP 3 ORSON SCOTT CARD LUNACIES:
"obama's going to organize urban [black] gangs to help take care of his political enemies in cities"
"the time to write fan fiction is never. you will never do your best work in someone else's universe, because you're bound by their rules" - proceeded to write jesus/shakespeare fan fiction
"Laws against homoloveual behavior should remain on the books, not to be indiscriminately enforced against anyone who happens to be caught violating them, but to be used when necessary to send a clear message that those who flagrantly violate society's regulation of loveual behavior cannot be permitted to remain as acceptable, equal citizens within that society" tl;dr: gay things should be illegal not because they're gay, but because i don't like gays

The director was anti-gay? I thought the exact opposite.

I thought movie was okay, the story has been told before. Boy goes somewhere, faces rejection, makes a friends, becomes leader, meets a girl on the way. That sort of story.

it looks okay. after seeing captain phillips everything else looks bad

the main character is one of those friends so forget that movie

I've read the book and I saw the movie yesterday. Honestly, it's probably one of my favorite movies now. In terms of fidelity to the book, it's practically spot on. Yes, they had to cut things out and condense a little bit, but they packed so much of the book in the movie so well. They did cut out the Locke and Demosthenes stuff, but I personally didn't enjoy those parts of the book as much.

But he faces very little rejection, it's more like disdain from the cadets at the academy. Even then he overcomes them with tact and compassion. From the academy standpoint, he excels at nearly every single standpoint. And Ender is only good friends with Petra, nothing more.

Me and my friends had to do a report over the book for school couple of weeks ago. I am currently on the third book in the series and I love it. I plan on seeing the movie tomorrow. :) Also as far as I heard the movie is very accurate compared to the book but they leave out some of the stuff involving life back on earth.

jaden smith hugged his girlfriend at the premiere

because that's news
