Sorry, something went wrong.

A team of highly trained monkeys has been dispatched to deal with this situation.
If you see them, show them this information:

(bunch of letters and numbers)

more like highly trained to screw things up

I don't see any "in reply to" comments. They're all placed underneath the comment they're replying to.
it probably only does that with comments posted before the update

I remember replying was changed to @username for a while and nobody could find the original comment.

I swear to loving god I really want to hurt who ever is supervising these changes with a swift kick to their vagina.

to get to your inbox you have to go into video manger and it's on the left there

It is annoying because the Inbox used to be accessible from any page. That's what my userscript tries to do.

I can't even comment.

Google, stop fixing things that do not need to be fixed.

This wasn't them fixing anything.

They were tired of people not switching to Google+, and they made so many new users use Google+ that they could claim the majority was Google+ and they were justified in closing out all old accounts from commenting. You need to make your account Google+ to interact with comments beyond viewing now. Not only that, Google+'s stuffty comments are bare-bones and filled with useless stuffty features. AKA most of the features of the old comment system didn't transfer over because they started from scratch adding what THEY wanted. Now it's extremely incompatible, buggy with old comments, half the quick-fixes they did don't work right. Beyond that, as others have reported, the site has started giving major errors. Haven't seen those in years. Everything is breaking REALLY badly.

I guess they were just really crying badly over the fact no one wants to use their crappy social app.

I linked my account but now I cannot reply to anybody's comments.

let's start a kickstarter to buy youtube from google

Also, what do they mean by "popular figure's comments will show up in videos."

basically if pewdiepie, smosh etc comment on any video, theirs will be the top comment, regardless of the number of thumbs up it gets. At least, i would assume thats what it means

The moment they force me to link my account into lame ass Google+, I'm deleting my profile on YouTube.

This wouldn't be fair. It's just basic bullstuff, too.

Also:
"While the YouTube development team hasn’t divulged more details about the comment voting system, it’s possible that users with tons of positive feedback across many videos could be elevated into the Top Comments section more frequently than other users. Alternatively, users that receive a significant number of negative votes across many videos could have a harder time making it into the Top Comments section. This would be a more complex setup, but could encourage more users to provide helpful, entertaining or insightful comments in order to become more influential within the YouTube community.
