yeah you're more likely to be interested in the song title so it makes sense that the title is on top

I agree, probably does make more sense that way.

Yesterday went down great.

The new teach came in, and we told/showed him where we were at. He was not happy about the lack of Unreal 4/version control on the machines, so he went and ordered that. He also got us to cut the entire project WAY back, and to go and redo all of our game design documents and schedules. We now will have a 5 week development time, but there will be far less to build and we will have a proper pipeline to go off.

Nothing to show yet, and probably won't have much for the next few weeks.

-snip-

I'm just wondering, has anyone from Extra Credits ever made a game? I tried looking up their names and whatnot but nothing comes up.

It's been a while since I watched, but if I remember correctly James (the guy who writes all the stuff which the other guy reads out) has made a bunch of small games which he has released on one website or another.

Regardless, they're kind of proof that you don't need to make games to understand what makes a damn good one.

Any decent points this guy has about bad game brown townysis channels were quashed by his massive ego. What a richardhead.

i dunno if i agree with this one entirely cus i find most of those brown townysis videos pretty enjoyable

but his video on Gameplay vs Art is spot on.

james is afaik some kind of professional game designer

idk if they ever made games but they always talk about james working with devs to give them advice or similar guidance

I found James' linkedin. he apparently used to work for    Divde by Zero Games, and is currently working for Rainmaker Games but I can`t find ANY information on either of these companies.

yeah i never got the idea that he works for any specific company in particular

he's always seemed like a for-hire guy but i've obv never looked into it

regardless, i don't think he works on putting the games together, just understanding what elements should be considered to make the end product better, which is a skill in its own right apart from the creative talents required to make games

I'm sure "consultant' has popped up a number of times in the videos.

James helps with Game Design (Usually consultant work and or giving lectures)
Dan is an animator
Allison is an artist
Leelee does art as well

Haven't kept up with the various new EC crew but I know the other dans are swell guys who do dan things.
