Vasily races back and drops a ten on the counter.
Vasily: | "I'll be picking this up." |
Maxwell: | "Thanks." |
The vendor looks up at Vasily with a confused look.
Vasily: | "Keep the change." |
The both walk into the meeting room just as the doors are being shut. Everyone (Player Characters) are there, and a few new faces. People are talking and murmuring to themselves, and the room echoes with the occasional scraping of utensils on plates, plastic, ceramic and paper. The din dies down and the meeting begins as Alphonse Simon rises from his end of the table and speaks.
Simon: | "Thank you, all, for coming today from across New Horizons to this meeting. I am sorry that we had to schedule it around lunch time, and in a rather gloomy place. Due to the nature of the meeting today, however, the Lawrenceburg Central Panel has decided to retain a high level of security. Is everyone here not a Level 3 operative or higher?" |
A man raises his hand on the far side of the table.
Simon: | "You there. Are you a Level 3 operative?" |
??? | "No sir." |
Simon: | "Luis, please escort him out." |
One of the guards, a large black man walks over and grabs the man's chair.
The man gets up and walks out, and Luis shuts the door behind him. There appears to be a louder murmur in the town as usual.
The lights dim, and a projector begins casting a PowerPoint slide of the NHPLF seal. Simon clicks his clicker, and the next slide contains a bulleted list of the meeting's agenda.
Simon: | "That should be that. The order of business for this meeting is to first discuss the Newhope Hill Raid, to congratulate those responsible for successes, and to gather any opinions or suggestions for future raids. Second, we will be discussing new recruit training, and tactics." *Simon reaches for his briefcase, and pulls out a manila folder, and pulls a stack of papers out of it.* "These are application forms to becoming an instructor of some sort for the resistance. This includes everything from close combat and marksmanship to wilderness survival to maintenance and engineering. Pick up a form if interested." *Simon slaps down the stack of papers to the man sitting to his left, and he begins passing the papers down the row.* "The last and final piece is to plan or investigate any future attacks that can be planned for gathering more supplies, as well as gathering intelligence for new missions." |
What will you do?
