32, which is decent in my books since I don't exactly play alot of fast servers anyways.

Graphics Card is a relatively stuffty GTS 450.

Once I get windows 8 I will be able to. I've even unable to get my GPU working on Linux.

on my laptop i can barely run minimum and on my desktop i can run medium just fine

I run low at like 40-58 fps on a medium build :(
I really don't get it considering I can run lots of games just fine.

In addittion to users who CAN run shaders, keep in mind not all of them WILL.

Turning shaders off on maps designed for them can give players serious visibility advantages.

Medium seems to be where my HD 6850 can handle things at 900p @ 60FPS, while playing on other servers, even ones with big detailed builds. I usually switch to Maximum when taking a screenshot, or in Single Player with decent sized builds.

I wish it was possible to "bake" shadows into the map/build and force them server-side.

My computer is a piece of stuff. The highest I can run without lag is low. My dad doesn't want for me to get a new computer because he thinks mine is great. The thing is he doesn't know that the computer WAS great like 7 years ago, Now its a piece of ancient trash. I'm trying to talk him into letting me get a custom built computer for christmas. My computer had a good run for a 500$ computer.
