Author Topic: Biggest Sandbox Games?  (Read 5938 times)

im a big fan of the ARMA series, and while its not a sandbox by the regular definition it has a very in depth mission editor and massive maps.

swg is not a sandbox game...

you really dont know what a sandbox is do you. open world and open ended =/= sandbox.

I did not say those words, I quoted it from something ells.

all these open world action or rpg games isnt what i would consider sandbox...

in fact i havnt seen a single sandbox game even mentioned in this topic yet. besides blockland.
but having stuffloads of space isnt necessary, it dosnt really make it better.
I dunno; Minecraft Creative mode can fall under the category of a sandbox.

just cause 2s map was kinda lame imo

The game itself has no limit. What happens is the game will eventually fill up all available memory and the comp will crash.
The game isn't programmed to store every piece of map in memory.

True but for some reason it crashes.

it's great for driving vehicles

it's great for driving vehicles

It is more open to drive where you wan't unlike Need For Speed series maps.
Also considering NFS is not Sandbox.

yeah the elder scroll games get smaller and small by travel size, every game.
but this is perhaps because daggerfall is hours and hours of USELESS repetitive views and nothing going on.

people want to experience and interact, not see trees and rocks for 90% of the game.
Skyrim was mostly boring repetitive stuff though. AKA "Don't trip over the draugr"

JC2 map is almost the size of pluto,

oh, I thought it was infinite. for shame
We just can't get enough land. Humans...lol

JC2 map is almost the size of pluto,
where did you hear that
the surface area of pluto is 16,650,000km2
jc2 is only 1036km2
