he's talking single-player, what the hell are you even trying to say?
I'm pretty sure we're talking about video games actually
Modern multiplayer: Take cover behind  this wall and snipe all day and just call down airstrikes all day. You can unlock stuff if you play long enough, so take this somewhat stuffty rifle.
no wonder you don't like them, if that's how you play!

No, that's how everyone plays these days. Don't make this harder than it needs to be.

Modern shooters are a bunch of starfishs hanging out behind walls and shooting people with snipers. The leveling in uneventful and all of it just feels dead and boring.

my god you're an idiot.

are you only playing call of duty or something?
my god you're an idiot.
why would you judge a game based on something about it that nobody uses?

are you only playing call of duty or something?
All modern games with online are shooters. I'm covering a broad term here.

Seriously, you're making this harder than it needs to be. And you're getting nowhere.

Anyhoo, if they released a new UT game they'd have to keep it classic for me to keep playing. If they added leveling to get you more character customization items, i'd love it. Nothing more.

I don't want people to be able to spawn with a sniper and get 25 kills in one life to get a redeemer. :\

it still sounds like you're only playing call of duty

Chex, you should play a modern game that's not Call of Duty.

Oh that's right, Battlefield. Such variety. Then there is TF2, but it has lost it's shine has become a item collecting game.

first of all, I didn't say anything about there being an incredible amount of variety in the genre
secondly, there's halo, crysis, section 8, homefront, ARMA, bioshock, far cry, resistance, borderlands, half-life, counter-strike, MoH, and timeshift which is particularly interesting
but I'll stop, I think I've made my point by now

secondly, there's halo similarly overblown but not to the same extent, but owes its casualized gameplay to the fact that it was designed as a console shooter first and foremost
crysis felt a little like Halo in terms of the player and weapons, I felt like the open world could have used a little more expansion in terms of how it's utilized,
section 8 Honestly never played it, seemed like a Halo clone to some extent but not particularly terrible
homefront Heard this was stuff
ARMA Its focus on realism and tactics sets it apart
bioshock disappointing with its gameplay, there's just so much more that can be done in regards to things like upgrades and plasmids. it really feels like a dumbed down version of System Shock 2
far cry never played it
resistance based only on the PS3 demos, it seems like an ok shooter but still suffers from a forgetton of consolization issues like a terrible FOV and boring scripted events
borderlands mixing the gameplay of Halo with an RPG is an interesting concept, but the fetch-quests of the first game are too many, too often. Haven't tried the second game because I refuse to support Gearbox for various reasons.
half-life The "in-between" of new- and old-honor students. Non-linear linearity, as I call it. It's mostly linear with more emphasis on story, but still has the tropes of an old-honor student like movement speed and freedom of movement (you're free to backtrack, although it might not do anything).
counter-strike it's fockin' counter-strike,
MoH Can we pretend this series stopped existing before 2010? Because the 2010 game and Warfighter are loving awful.
