Blockland Saves.com

  • About

Blockland Saves is a new site built around save hosting for Blockland. It allows users to upload, download, and browse saves uploaded by users.

Uploaded saves are bls files (with an optional attached jpg file) with credits, a description, and a title defined by the publisher.

If necessary, registered users can select multiple saves and download them all in one zip archive. Your uploads will keep track of the downloads so you can see what users think about your builds.

  • Why Use It?

This site adds a simplistic way to share your builds.

Your uploads have unique download links that you can supply to users in gallery topics if you wish.

This also gives you the opportunity to share your newest creations with users and see what others are building.

  • Design

Here is one of the many pages - the one for uploading saves.

You are presented with a header on the top (for main navigation); as well as the search bar, navigation menu, and account overview (not shown) on the left.

The main content of the page is viewed on the canvas, which is pretty obvious.

There is a mobile site available, so use of the site on your device is as easy as on the desktop. No pinching or zooming required.

  • Try It Today

It's totally free! More web features and an in-game browser/uploader is currently in the works.

I really don't mean to sound like a richardweed, but domains & hosting is quite expensive. So is providing 1GB of free storage for every user.

If you'd like to leave me a tip to be put towards the site, you can do so here.

there should be a star rating system, like RTB or Amazon or something

Passwords are sent in plaintext; fix or risk this topic being locked.

Are you accusing me of stealing passwords, or do you mean in the emails?

The issue is that you shouldn't be handling any real passwords.  I can't accuse you of anything because nobody knows what you're doing with the passwords.

They're stored in the database as a hash I can't decode. If you don't trust me, just don't use a personal password.

People will use passwords they use elsewhere. Like I said: don't send passwords in plaintext and this topic won't be locked.

Needs the following things:

Mandatory pictures of the build for each save

Brick count in the description

If I submit a file I'd like to know know many views it had, and of those views how many downloads it has.

A place to list color sets and bricks required to load the build correctly

Rating system that can only be used if your logged in, but you can view the ratings if your not logged in.

A way to password protect a save so you can use it as a save upload site and a way to safely transfer a private save to someone.

Wasn't RTB developing some sort of system for exchanging saves called RTB Buffet?
Or is it just me?

It was only an idea.

ugh i typed in my aol address because i use it for activation stuff and it collects all that spam and junk.
either your activation email system isn't instantaneous or it can't send to my aol address, because i don't have the confirmation email and i can't make another account with the same name.

so the scam is to steal menial passwords, so that he could attempt to use them elsewhere in hopes its one that the user uses it on everything.

sigh

as usual, kalph needs his big mouth'ed fingers involved in every loving fansite or peripheral-tool website related to blockland.

why dont you go finish cloud or something. let the community grow for christ's sake.
