Author Topic: How 2 Use DOSBox?  (Read 626 times)

Sorry for 2 threads in 10 minutes

But how do you use DOSBox? I want to use it for games, and then put it on my thumbdrive. I can't seem to work it.
Thanks.

Say you have a folder in the same directory as the DOSBox EXE called "blargh"

DOSBox uses virtual drives, so you have to "mount" them.

if you want drive C to refer to the folder called "blargh," you'd do this:
---------------------
mount "c" .\blargh
c:
---------------------
you can use any letter in place of C, and replace "blargh" with whatever game folder you want to refer to.

you can put all of that at the bottom of the autoexec file to mount them at startup so you don't have to remount them all the time, and just use the letter followed by a colon to switch drives.

Pretty sure you can just drag .exe files directly onto DOSBox and it will run them, granted the games you are playing don't require anything more than that.

It is more fun to mount stuff though.

okay why did I read that as "How 2 Use DDOSBox?"

because you're the guy who ddoses stuff ooooo
