Author Topic: How do I stop sleeping in school?  (Read 1828 times)

In middle school and elementary, I used to go to bed at like 1 AM, and I wasn't tired in class. I don't understand why I'm sleeping. I'm getting way more sleep than I did then.

maybe 12 hours of sleep is too much and it's making you tired? I dunno.

also you're only supposed to get like 7-9 hours of sleep or something

Because the teachers are boring. Sitting in the same position, hours on end, listening to some boring person say boring things.

the average attention span of an average person is roughly 20 minutes.

sophomore and junior year my schedule was like

7:00AM - Wakeup
8:15PM - Be in class
4:00PM - Go home
4:15PM - Shower, eat, get ready for work
5:00PM - Be at work
2:00AM - Get off work
2:15AM - Get home, shower
2:30AM - Wind down, get ready for bed
3:00AM - Bed

^ was usually like that most days, I worked an average of 36 hours/week those two years. needless to day i slept through almost every class lol

well, it's really easy. you just sleep too much, and bam, too much sleep

what do you possibly expect us to be able to do?
go see a doctor

I sleep through some classes too, however at least I have a reason to. My medication for my Tourette's makes me like a zombie, and I get extremely dizzy and have no appetite.

I'm not sure if this is a issue with sleep. Wouldn't it have shown up earlier?

it could be that you're getting too much sleep, so your body adapts to sleeping all the time; ergo your body wants to sleep all the time
the only time you'd need like 12 hours of sleep is if you were recovering from an injury or you were an infant
and i doubt the latter
