If you get hurt, you have a chance of gaining a bleeding effect. As a result, you will begin losing small amounts of health over time. The more damage dealt in a single hit, the higher the chance you will begin bleeding out. I'd say, by default, maybe 5 hp every 3 seconds.

Includes a bandage item that heals very little health but stops bleeding and can be applied to other players.

Maybe a bandage event that stops bleeding as well.

I've wanted something like this for a long time after seeing the Tactical Player. In fact, I'd even be fine with some item that stops anybody with the Tactical Player from bleeding until they get hurt again. Based on what I saw while using the player type, you would have to constantly heal yourself until you stop bleeding in order to prevent yourself from dying or being left with very little health.

Basically like DayZ, I was really thinking along the lines of the Firearms: Source mod for Half Life 2.

I don't like bleeding damage, personally.


I see one of three scenarios:

1) You take a ton of damage and die.
       "OH GEEZ well I guess that's it"

2) You take a ton of damage and survive
       "Ow, I can't take any more damage, gotta heal fast."

3) Bleeding damage
       "Ow, I can't take any more damage, got--" *SCREAMS AND FALLS OVER* "--what the forget"

Scenarios
Interesting, I see some scenarios...

I've fallen and I can't get up!
   "Life alert boy!"

I have been shot in the chest, and now i'm bleeding!
   "I better run quickly and heal up before I bleed to death!"

I have been shot to death.
   "Twitch Twitch"

maybe just any kind of healing (events, items, etc) would stop the bleeding too! Also bandages should just stop the bleeding and not heal because bandages =/= stimpacks.

would b nice 2 c with blood trails that leads the predator to his or her target, similar to bushidos super murder mystery. melee weapons are capable of producing massive pools of blood, while fire arms only hammer out a squirt due to the concentration of that bullet

i have a better idea for how this could work.

you'd have a separate bar or bottomprint indicating your blood value. You get hit with a weapon that causes bleeding, different weapons drain blood faster (values set in a support addon) and once you lose all of your blood meter you start losing health. If you don't get bandages or heal yourself before your blood is all out, you start to lose health and keep losing health (slowly, mind you) until you either die or get some sort of bandages.

You could just make it stop at an extremely low amount of health, maybe.
