Author Topic: Dual wielding playertype  (Read 673 times)

I know this is possible by programming individual weapons, but I was thinking more like holding a certain weapon (like the gun) in the right hand and an other weapon (like the spear) in the other hand. Scrolling though your inventory for either hand.

This would make it possible to be building and holding a gun to fend of attackers. Or throwing a grenade while shooting a minigun.

The playertype wouldn't be able to jet obviously as the right mouse button would be used to trigger the secondary weapon.
It could be usefull for CityRPGs and DMs.

This is just an idea I have, not sure if it is possible.
I also don't need it, it is just stuff to think about

Unfortunately, you NEED to program individual weapons to do this.

How about this:
Program some weapons to be held in the left hand, the other hand still uses the normal selected weapon.
Like a weapon called "Gun Alt", that is always held in the left hand, this can be combined with a spear in the right hand.
This would still mean changing the weapons, but I think this may seem more plausible

Of course, you also wouldn't be able to use any weapons that have alternate right-click functionality, and no weapons that need the light key to reload in the left hand. But it is most certainly doable.

But yeah you'd need to make each left handed weapon as well as something to allow you to trigger it.
