Author Topic: I wish people would quit using autism as an insult or argument.  (Read 7069 times)

I agree with this, people online say you have Autism everywhere on the Internet especially on 4Chan. It's out of hand.

I actually have several family members with Asperger's, and it pisses me off when people use "Austism" as an insult. Thanks for making this thread.

Autism is not a joke, its serious stuff.

Some people here seem to think that autism is some kind of stupidity or aggressive behavior.
I don't

It seems like nobody here knows what a disability is.
I certainly do. I've been around a lot of kids with autism and a lot of them just repeated the same word/phrase over and over again.

So it's only offensive after doing it for a while? How does that work?
It has to be 22.3 years after something before it's funny

i have a cousin who has autism
hes like awesome though
It's almost like saying "lol peple who have cancer r stupd jajajaja"
Thanks for making this thread.

The only people here who find this offensive are either autistic themselves or have an autistic relative. If these things would not be true, then absolutely no one would be complaining about this lol.

Maybe if people were actually halfway decent and didn't find the need to use mental disorders as insults then nobody would be complaining about it.

that's a weird assumption
no one in my family is autistic, and if any of my relatives are they haven't told me; but i am absolutely against people using gay, handicapped, autistic, or any of the like as an insult.

even whether it's talking to people face to face or on the internet, i don't ever recall a time i have ever called any one person a name like that unless i was joking.
