yes bad mpg but speed?  Yeah that's why they all came with big V8s straight from the factory so that they wouldn't be slow.  Back then a muscle car with a V6 didn't exist like it does today.  All muscle cars had a V8.  And the 454 used in the SS Chevelle is one of the most powerful stock engines they made.  My dad said that people used to run them stock in their race cars out at our dirt track,  but since they became so rare they had to put cubic inch limitations so now everybody just uses built up 350 engines.

When you hear that V8 rumble mpg and the environment become the last things you think about.

good post here. the only 6 cylinder engine that they made with this car was a straight six anyhow. I think most people just don't like the MPG on most of these kinds of cars.

As far as I'm concerned when you have enough power to rip the pavement into pieces it's worth taking a hit at the pump.

did someone mow your family down with one of these or something? dude calm down lol.
"calm down"? seriously?
ugh i bet you like gay stuff european cars lol
as a matter of fact, I do like European cars, such as the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Lamborghini Aventador, BMW M6, Mercedes SLS, and Asian cars like the Nissan GT-R, as well as the occasional American car, like a Chevrolet Camaro SS or Ford GT
all of which are faster, prettier, and safer than your thirty-year-old... thing
youre wrong about that first statement, sure you have a point with the other two.
no I'm not, and yeah I know

haha this car weighs 2 tons, all steel. you'd be pretty safe in any wreck of a relatively same size. not like it doesnt have seat belts. probably gonna get racing straps (the overall seatbelts, not a typo) though just for the novelty.
He does have a point relative to crashes. If involved in a wreck your car will most likely total any modern vehicle simply because the modern car will give in and your steel frame will remain. However the lack of crumple zones in your car will transfer a ton of impact to you.

Congrats on getting a car though.

bitches love not walking

Dude, why even bother arguing? Everyone has their own opinion on cars, don't try telling them it was a bad idea to choose what they did. Some people like classic cars. Some people like new cars. Don't just come into a thread like this and stuff on his car because it isn't what you like, just say something like, "Cool car, hope you enjoy it!" Just because you're on the internet doesn't mean you can't have common courtesy like you would if you saw it in person. Would you say the same things to the guy if you were standing in front of him?

haha thats a 3rd gen el.

It was just the first thing that popped in my mind, that it's that one car I only see in GTA SA.
A lot of things go like that. Like "Oh, that was in SA!" :p

i choked on my tea

tbh, it was my second choice of car but I wanted the bigger body style

probably gonna paint it white or silver.
silver with black stripes

gotta do it

haha you know what that means? it means you're gonna be a mess. your car may be in acceptable condition but I can promise you you'll get plenty of money for medical bills
new cars are designed to protect passengers, unlike something such as a 1977 El Camino

their heaviness also means bad mpg and speed. not to mention the fact that they're ugly and by no means aerodynamic
uh what

my 2.2 ton luxury jaguar gets 25 MPG and has a top speed of 144

it was a bad idea tho. it's ugly and that's just my opinion, but everything else isn't
just because it was cheap doesn't mean it's a good decision

and I don't see the courtesy of it is relevant. I only started because he said it was safer than new cars which is wrong and a very important issue. but it doesn't matter, even if I was only doing it to be rude, he's still wrong

your car is a jaguar, not really comparable at all to a chevy
and why did you bold "luxury"? luxury cars are often quick

Not relevant, but it's annoying how most luxury cars are computer limited to 155.

Should be good once it's fixed up.
Cool car.

that's okay, you can have your opinions, quit bashing others though. For 1800, I got a retail-except-for-paint '77 vehicle. Turbo trans, 350 4 barrel v8. It's the one I was looking for whether the almighty Night Fox thinks its a bad decision or not.

I didn't say it was safer than new cars, just that it was pretty safe. Destroyer made a really good point, but even then, it's still pretty safe.

I can deal with 21 MPG and the top speed doesn't bottom out at 144 on this, lol.

Should be good once it's fixed up.
Cool car.

Once it's all done, I'll probably come back and show you guys.

We're probably gonna put some wider wheels on it. Mostly everything for looks. My dad wants to put the SS stripe on it, I'm not sure about that though. It looks way cooler but yknow it's not a real SS.
