Why do people care about rank so much? Like I just play comp to get better & have fun, the rank honestly means nothing to me and it's bizarre why people want to rank up so bad.
Because its something to work for in a rather contentless game. The only other thing is skins. If ranks didnt exist, I guarantee you I probably wouldn't be playing. Its fun to play, but there needs to be something to work for, otherwise there's no point in continuing to play past maybe a few hours.
Actually that's literally the only reason CSGO is as big as it is now, come to think of it. I had preordered CSGO, so I've been there since the beginning. CSGO didnt always have the competitive ranking system. The game's audience was declining up until they added ranking and skins.
