Shotguns in CS were always powerful, it's just that the focus on ranged combat makes them sort of the "black sheep" guns (mostly situational). The M3 in 1.6 and Source is pretty fun to use (and hilarious in say, the vents on Assault), and the XM1014 was always bullstuff and included in the "auto" part of most "no awp/auto" type servers.

it outputs 0 zero damage when you are dead because you tried to go up vs an AK and got headshot

actually let me rephrase that, its great when you are playing stuff tier silvers who dont check corners so you can camp and shoot em in the back
