Author Topic: Some strange glove texture not going away in Garry's Mod  (Read 1987 times)

Okay, so, a couple days ago I installed the RtB (Raising the Bar) pack on Gmod, little did I know it changed the textures of some things that I didn't want the textures to be replaced. Eventually, I uninstalled it and fixed it to the point where most of the textures were normal again. However, i've noticed that my glove (the black gloves from CS;S) were a blue and dark blue camoflauge color, and it's been bugging me for a while.

Do any of you know how to get the normal texture back again?

Verify the cache on CS:S?...
Or just reinstall CS:S.

pics or it didn't happen.

shut up and post something useful.

anyways OP, you could just try reinstalling, or find out if it's any other mod you have.

Thing is though, I don't really want to have to go through reinstalling every single one of my workshop add-ons again.

I don't see what CS:S has to do with this, just that the glove texture is from it.

well if it's only a glove, why does it bother you so much?

like i said, you could go through your add-ons and try to find something that modifies the textures.

Garrysmod uses textures from CSS?... What are you even.
It has literally everything to do with it. I mean did you not know Gmod uses textures from other source games?

AKA why most people buy CS:S in the first place is to play with the models on Gmod. They're used in just about everything.
Unless this has changed and I'm wrong now but I'm pretty certain it is still this way.

It's funny because you can just download the CS:S files legally online.

forget I worded that badly

What i'm trying to say is, I don't see what reinstalling CS;S would do to help.

Because Garry's Mod uses other games' content. It doesn't have its OWN CS:S content stored within it, it uses the CS:S content to be able to use... well, CS:S content. If you uninstall CS:S, Garry's Mod will no longer have CS:S. Since the texture is stored within CS:S, then reinstalling it would most likely replace the texture with the one you want, since Garry's Mod will be using the CS:S file as it usually does.

You can try launching CS:S as well.

decepticon, try running cs:s and seeing if the glove texture is there too

if so then do what they're telling you

do this. if it is, then go to your cs:s properties and verify the cache. that'll fix it.
stop being so reluctant to take people's advice, especially if it's the majority giving you that advice. we're trying to give you the help you're asking for, and you're denying it.

I just checked and the glove texture is the normal black glove on CS;S

I don't know of any add-ons that can differ the glove texture. I don't have any add-ons that would change the glove texture, or at least I don't think.

Okay, I can try this as a back-up plan. I just don't want to go through the long process of reinstalling and waiting for it to finish installing since I have sucky internet, hoping you'll understand that.

If it'd help, I could post a list of the workshop add-ons I have.

gee i suppose not seeing a picture of the issue isn't useful!
