I don't really like this idea, just because it'd be so rare to actually finish the race with all the players being killed so easily.  But that's just me.  I prefer the not-tampered-with Speedkart servers.

That's already been done. Someone used gavity cat's guns with speedkart. Although instead of making pickups you just spawn with them.

There's a problem with this. One or more weapons will become over/underpowered in some way. The best solution is item pick-ups. Or, limited ammo or cool-downs.
