Both games are alpha and cost more then a ton of games on sale right now, Why bother?

This too. I need a GOOD sandbox game that has a survival aspect to it not brought on by the likes of Minecraft.

Project Zomboid is pretty good if you don't mind 2D, It's only got local multiplayer so far though, But it's got a ton of content and mod support.
