Whats the point if nobody lets me eat what I catch.

It's weird because he's crazy about sailing because he feels really free and that he can go all over.. but I guess fishing's fairly different.

Sailing is like the best sport.

What happened? Dare I even ask?
The tip broke and then I lost it during a move.

Lol fishing isn't boring. I go like 4 days a week during the summer. Mornings my dad and I catch as many as 20 bass. I caught 4 foot long pike over the summer. Now that was fun.

And it's also not too bad having a 12 pack coors light while you're doing it too.

having the joy of catching the fish, spending time with a friend, learning to be more patient.

I love to fish! Its not boring... even if you aren't catching anything, as long as you are with someone it is fun. If you just have a boat and cast off the stern and let it trail, you can set little Baby Blue's... And it all depends on what you fish. If you go on a party boat for fishing that take you to the hot spots. Often they do bottom fishing. IDK I love it, but Im biased- I live on Long Island :P

Fishing can be fun but I do find it a bit boring, only go out every once in a while.
Love spear fishing though, much more fun.
I thought you preferred bow and arrow over spear~

My dad has properties with decent sized ponds on them for fishing. I usually hit them up in the summer a few times.

I only fish once or twice a year...

I very rarely go fishing but I do have a license for it.  I like doing it in good places.  Last time I went was in a shallow, fast-moving river where my lure kept getting stuck and all the fish movement was very far upstream with hills on either side.

Has anybody ever been salmon fishing? It's pretty fun. Also, if you needed to/want to, you could eat the salmon raw once you kill it.

Then you have a fitting name my friend.

Actually, that is only catch and release tourney's and freshwater fishing, mostly public ponds. In Southern Louisiana where I live, mostly everyone owns their own boat and they have boat launches spread all around the coast of the Gulf. You can just go out there as you please. You will need a fishing license, but for residents, it is like $15 a year. You have limits, but like redfish, trout, flounder, any of that you can actually shove it in your ice chest on the boat and take it home and eat it.

You caught a 4 foot long pike? This winter, I caught a 45lb Bull Red

what's a fish
it's a scaly, water-breathing beast that flipperflops around in the water for transport

It's not that fishing is boring, but it requires patience. It's an excellent bonding activity, and you should encourage your father to take you
