Author Topic: Blockland Moved to Torque 3D  (Read 2147 times)

I think if a computer could code itself it would take a decade for it to figure out how to move Blockland to torque 3D with absolutely no issues with compatibility or anything of any kind.

if my understanding is correct the only way to do this would be to remake blockland completely (blockland 2, anyone? c;) from the bottom up, except it would be on torque3d. i imagine this would be very time consuming and very hard.

what is with this forgetin thing where people refer to themselves as 'we' in order to make their arguments more effective

like clearly it's not we. we don't all agree on this. unless we is 'god and i', which is another can of pretentious worms entirely

If blockland were to be rewritten into another engine (which it wont), we might as well aim for something better than torque at all.

unfortunately, T3d does not support the same kind of DIF files that TGE does

the bedroom would be impossible to use unless you re-made it entirely

Maps were removed here, though ...

Better Graphics

How so?

New features

How can the same not be done with the current engine?

Less LAG

How so?

Also, how come you forgot to mention all the negative things?

This is a bad idea, since the whole blockland code will have to be completely remade, and a lot of things will have to be remade as well. (Like, if the maps were ever to come back, they have to be remade)

Better Graphics
Lets make a "lego" game with better graphics. I think it looks just fine how it is. The engine works, why screw it up and try to work out all the bugs again and spend years repairing it?
