"So, what are you at this base for?" The man sitting next to Anatoliy on the bus inquired. Anatoliy didn't seem to be paying attention, he was only watching the front of the bus. "Hey, dude." the man said, nudging his shoulder.
"Huh? Oh, yeah what's up?"
"I said what're you at this base for?"
"Oh, I uh, I was assigned to the eighty-sixth."
"Oh, no stuff! Excited for your first day?"
"Heh, hell yeah. I'm rollin' with the big shots." he smiled, chuckling to himself.
"Yeah, yeah. Don't get too roostery. Might embarrass yourself."
"Yeah, right. Hey, you see those guys?" Anatoliy pointed in front of him. Two small dots were flying toward the base, fast.
"Yeah, I see them."
"They're flying pretty damn low..."
The man squinted as the objects grew closer and closer, easily identifiable.
"Those aren't ours. Are they? Oh, stuff!" Anatoliy exclaimed as the jets both dropped their payloads, sending debris and dust towering into the air. The bus screeched to a halt.
"Oh forget! Oh stuff! forget!" Anatoliy rose from his seat quickly as the sirens began blaring.
He sped for the middle exit of the bus, pushing his way out of the doors and others following quickly after him. Gunfire began to echo through the air, it was especially loud due to the low cloud cover. An LAV burst through the nearby treeline, lined with tall pines. The mounted .50 began thumping, the sound of whips and cracks ringing in Anatoliy's ears as he booked it for the back end of the bus for cover. "forget, forget forget forget forget." Anatoliy swore under his breath as he began to run for the nearest building, a hangar. Several soldiers swung around the corner, aiming their weapons. They waved him over. Anatoliy made it to cover, the soldiers began to fire at the gunner. Anatoliy ran his hand through his hair, sighing, "forget me."
