Author Topic: Stupid school rule.  (Read 3740 times)

So today my PE class had to endure this long speech in which the assistant principal talks to us for the whole hour and we have to copy down the stuff he says. Every five weeks or so, we do this. But today there was a rule to go with it - that we can't take our backpacks to PE anymore. Or at least, into the locker room.

Now this wouldn't typically piss me off if I didn't carry around my backpack everywhere. The fact that I can is the sole reason that I don't use my locker, or even have a lock on it. I don't even know the locker number or the combination, so unless I want a tardy today (5 = U on 'Behavior'), I'm forced to go get my locker number and combination, get a lock and put it on there (which I am not even sure is free of charge), and do all of this stuff in a very limited timespan. Has to be in the 15 minutes I get before first period or the 13 minutes I have for nutrition. I don't even know where this lady's office is (I'm new to the school).

We were actually never required to put a lock on our locker, which makes this whole thing very stupid. Also the fact that it's done because some loving handicaps saw that their backpack was too big for the locker, and left it out instead of putting it in their hall locker to save everyone the trouble. And some other dumbass left his inhaler in the backpack and was in SHOCK when it [his backpack] was gone. I mean come on, it's 8th grade. Do you not know that kids will move your stuff if it's lying out there?

I'm just really pissed because it's a way big hassle. My locker is supposedly closest to my first period, which would make it in the 400 hall. Which is great because that's where I have fourth period, the period directly after PE, but stuffty because second period is in the 300 hall. The 400 hall has a long walkway inbetween it and the 300 hall, so I'm forgeted there.

If I bring my backpack to PE tomorrow, I'll get sent to my locker with a tardy. So I can't really do anything about getting tardies, and if I get too many, I won't graduated on stage and get the many benefits other people do. Sometimes I just wish my school would not loving exist.

Discuss.

we're not even allowed to take our backpack to any of our classes.

This, but in exchange they give us ample time to open our lockers, store our stuff, and take out the stuff we need.

How the hell does that work

if I get too many, I won't graduated on stage

Pfft. You'll move on from this really quickly, especially if you go to college where the staff won't treat you like a tiny child.

What are the "many benefits" other people get?

No bags. Binders only. Final destination It's actually pretty easy.

no backpacks in classes is such horse stuff, I could never deal with it at my school, especially since we have big textbooks and 3 buildings each pretty far away

In my school, we have P.E. first period, and the exact same rule.
When I arrive at school, I go to the room I have AP Biology in, which is in 2nd period.
I put my backpack down there, and then I grab my PE clothes and go to P.E.
Ask one of the teachers from other periods if you can store your backpack in their room or something.

During freshman I only had a binder, I had 2 textbooks in it (big ones), another binder, and some other stuff and carried it everywhere.

Our high school is not too big so we don't really need backpacks to carry around our books

Edit: Woah woah woah wait

stuff could get stolen, especially if you go to a dirtbag school

How do you if somebody is in an AP class? Don't worry they'll let you know. But I really doubt you're in an AP class since you're in like 6th grade.

Are you in middle school? I had a similar situation there, except you weren't allowed to bring backpacks to school at all (apparently there could be bombs! :O shocker!)
so i had to use a laptop computer case which i could only hold in one hand, and it was very heavy. was the stupidest thing ever but i had no choice. so yeah thats how i carried around 20+ pounds of stuff the entire day including my laptop (you were required to have one at my middle school), and then on top of that i started having serious back problems because of it.

then i get to high school and its a totally different atmosphere. nobodys super strict about stuff anymore. its so much easier. the time in middle school is just making it a more miserable experience for everyone. they also tried to teach us cursive skills and typing classes too which proved to be useless.
