Adding multiplayer is pretty much just adding code. Of course it wouldn't be big in filesize.

They also insert secret files in the game that no one knows about. messing in the files may reveal them

I'm not sure if you decided to actually read or not. Let me quote it again.

Features that are working at the moment:
- Character animations
- Flying Ships
- Projectiles, Missiles, Explosions
- Building, Removing, Destruction
