Nidhogg is a fencing game that relies on loose strategy and a lot of skills
the goal is to get to the end of your side and be eaten by the nidhogg, this is also your enemies goal
upon killing your opponent you are given the 'arrow' which signals that you are allowed to move in the direction of your goal, if your enemy has the arrow only he is allowed to move towards his goal
The game is more easily understood by watching gameplay videos of it:
Short Gameplay Video of the first level (by me)
Longer 15 Minute gameplay of the first 4 levels

The game is 15 dollars on steam, it may seem like a steep price but the gameplay is solid and can provide several hours of entertainment in the single player mode alone

I love this game. I haven't tried multiplayer yet but it sounds super fun.

The controls can be somewhat irritating though. I don't like it when I try to parry and end up doing a cartwheel or throwing my sword. What control scheme do you guys use?
I use WASD, Jump = Space, Shift = Attack
not sure how it's working out

Arrow Keys Move
F - Attack
G - Jump

I think the default controls work great
