you mean you cant use content you didnt make? the world we live in

the very moment google/youtube started paying out ad money to youtube users, you basically accepted it as "earning" and it applies to all of youtube regardless if you are getting ad cash or not.

deal with it. make your own damn content. dont use youtube.
you are literally fighting against what you already agreed to in the terms.

you guys and your ego need subscribers and likes. and its all bullstuff. youtube use to just be a place where you can have a video uploaded and use a link to show people. the way it should be. quit trying to social media whore your stuff, especially when you just stole content anyway.
See, here's the thing, Bisjac. ANY video game playthrough that has even three seconds of music in the background, can be flagged and taken down. Stuff that's been put out as free to use content (Like THK's music), is being flagged AUTOMATICALLY.

The amount of ad money that many people like Markiplier and many other large Youtubers are actually quite literally making a living off of just by doing what they do is rapidly being choked up more and more, making it nearly impossible for people like Azuritereaction to work off of what was just fine a few years ago.

Many people do make their own content. Obviously, a LOT of people make their own content. I myself made a somewhat crappy AMV of a song with MechWarrior footage a few years back. But even that is made from a song that wasn't mine, combined with a game that wasn't mine. Yet I still made something.

Guys, you're not allowed:
• Entertainment
• Educational videos
• Music
• Informative videos
• Basically anything that someone else created that was meant to be enjoyed.

Have fun!
You dont seem to even understand the jyst of what bisjac said.

anything that someone else created that was meant to be enjoyed earn money

it dosnt matter if you are earning or not. it matters that you are using content that others still are earning from at all.

the rules are all bullstuff, but you all agreed to it from the get go.
its ironic you fight it after the fact.

...That's a nice "cry me a river" you got going on for someone that's more or less being choked out of the honest quality work they've been doing for the past few years.

Sorry, I just didn't understand it the first read-through. Still, a user should be able to use someone else's music in their video, provided they properly attribute it (unless that person put copyright restraints on that kinda thing). Not everyone can make their own music. Yes, there is the problem of the site making money even if the users aren't; this is something Google should really fix. Telling people to simply stop using YouTube is impractical, though; it simply won't happen.

I'm fine with the copyright claims but I hate it when they block it in certain countries because of the music; why?

if you are using other people's content be it a graphic or music or anything, then you dont deserve to earn the ad money.

thats what copyright infringement is isnt it?
it was one thing when it was all about entertainment right? you shout free use! share the ideas!
but now you are talking about stealing income from the real creators. thats another issue that is going on here.

So according to this logic, all we are allowed to post is Home videos we make using our Iphones? or would that not be allowed ethier because we are using a product made by someone else to record?

That's the way it is. People who keep complaining about these kinds of things should probably take the hint that there are far more productive ways to make money that don't involve borderline copyright infringement.

thats unrelated to copyright infringement. you dont know what you are talking about and should stay out of this discussion.

Who is this aimed at...?

if they didnt make the mp3, then its not honest.
if you want to claim the copyright laws are unfair thats a whole different issue for a different discussion. the youtube terms dont care.

Who is this aimed at...?
anyone. just explaining it more clearly.

Copyright laws are something I really don't like, mostly because they are abused so much and used out of context and their intended meaning. I tried to order a poster of an image I made off of Zazzle.com and they refused to process the order saying it was "copyrighted" all because it contains a ship I built that was themed after the ships from Space Battleship Yamato.

There's stuff like this happening pretty frequently. People are starting to get so uptight about copyright that it's getting in the way of a lot of stuff that it doesn't even belong in, either because of free use policies or some 3 second clip in the background. Or, as mentioned here, something similar to something from another random thing.
