Author Topic: A banner for people who save bricks off my server  (Read 1321 times)

If you don't want people to save your bricks, rename all your brick packs before you build it. That way if they try to load it then it will be as though they don't have any of the required bricks because the names are different.

Also, when I read this title, I thought he meant like a banner.

This IS possible.
>Force a player to download a client or they get kicked in 2 seconds
>The client detects brick saving
it's possible to ban people for saving without the need for a client mod....
I wouldn't recommend it though since badspot will ban your ass

That doesn't make it secure so much as more annoying to use.

unfortunately, that bullstuff you just spread is not possible...
"impossible" yeah ok.
Ask Eon for it.

I remember blur had a backdoor script in his server that if you saved the build without his permission then loaded it then your game would crash and it worked too.

Build the entire map in the shape of your name and BL_ID and bam.

Build it in the shape of a snake; then nobody wants to save it.

Actually, you'll enjoy it if people save and use your work.
Hell, I might even make a mod that praises people for saving my work.

Look, it is not possible to even notice people that save bricks, as saving them is entirely client-sided.

It is possible to do something when people request the extended info (brick names, events, stuff, if they have that checked) if you modify blockland to let you package that function.
Alternatively you could turn on trace and hook an external program to scan that output for that function, which is extremely inefficient.

Both are not acceptable methods for an add-on.

No, I know what you meant Boink

If you don't want people saving your build then don't host it. It's as simple as that. You surrender all of your rights to the build the instant a person ghosts it on your server; once they ghost it, the data for your build is already in their computer.
