I think the Ukraine want to be part of the EU over being allied with Russia.
Isn't this why they started the riot?

so apparently a gigantic loving tussle happened over at kiev's central square

here's a "before/after" pic of it:

and here's some misc photos

there's also riots roughly the same scale at Venezuela and Thailand but that's a bit offtopic

There's also the fact that the current government reversed the 2004 amendments to the constitution in 2010. The 2004 amendments were approved by 90% of parliament (this was after the orange revolution.) These amendments decreased the power of the president, and, among other things, prevented him from nominating a prime minister.

Just got back from France, didn't have wifi or TV, (Found some in a café) and as soon as I got home I turned on the news and saw this :(

I don't think this will last for long without UN intervention,  Obama already warned the protesters to peacefully demonstrate, and said that there would be a consequence if this was kept up. I think the Ukraine is in for a scary future at this rate.

So the UN is going to let Egypt overthrow itself twice, but when a nation that has gone through hundreds of years of oppression and wants to fight back, they are told to give up. Who gives a stuff what Obama thinks, he has no authority over Ukraine or any of the former Soviet-Block nations.

Hey, things like that happen when corruption takes over.

so why are they rioting again?

so why are they rioting again?
President backed out on a treaty to connect Ukraine to EU because of some Russian pressure or something.

so why are they rioting again?
