Author Topic: Blockland Content Updates & Dev Communication  (Read 2103 times)

I recently noticed heedicalking's post about content updates in Robox: link here

I can find out all about Roblox's plans, and they sound great. What about Blockland?

What's going on? Are there plans to develop a new terrain system? Movable bricks? Updates to the Events system? Various other things suggested by modders? Perhaps some of the things that Roblox is implementing? (see Heedicalking's post)

We need more communication from Badspot and whoever else (we don't even know! Anyone?) is developing the game. That's all I'm asking for.

Note: As well that speedkart came out in 2013 so ideally with more people driving vehicle physics problems are considered bigger.
The main focus right now seems to be vehicle physics.

Yeah, physics and collision in general would be at the top of my list.

I'd appreciate some form of RSS feed and in-game news, at least to a minimal extent, but since I'm plenty happy with the game as it is now I don't really see a need for plans about things that may or may not happen in the future.

I would honestly love to see that, I want to get excited for future updates and still get interested on blockland's development.

I do wish Badspot would be more open about development. Perhaps he could release beta builds so we can see what he's doing (see: Minecraft snapshots). I mean, even just telling us what he's doing would be fine.

Of course, it's up to him, but w/e

Even a Valve style approach, where they hint at whats in the works, but hold back release dates incase of complications would be nice.

Videos showing development and alphas of big updates would be really cool to keep the community's interest on the game future as well

Keep in mind i'm sure this has been brought to Badspot's attention and/or he has thought of it himself.

It's quite possible he feels his profits off this game aren't substantial enough to warrant that kind of collaboration/dedication with and to the community.  Maybe he still enjoys it but just has other prioritys going on in his life.  Who knows.  I'm curious to see if he has anything to say about it.

I'm pretty sure that's the reason. Maybe he'll post here to give us some more info.

i think the only other people who would know about blockland updates are Ephi, Rotondo, and Kompressor

Well, ROBLOX has hundreds of employees. We shouldn't expect that level of haste from Blockland.

I feel like working at the game and making it better would attract more people and their money. If I were him, I wouldn't be waiting for the money to come in; I would work towards making the game better so it attracts more players and keeps them from leaving soon after purchase.

Of course, I don't know what else is going on in his life that may be ahead of Blockland as far as priority.

Nobody's asking for haste; just communication.
