Author Topic: What Remains - Open World Zombie Survival PvP [Open Beta] [Pics Pg.13]  (Read 24816 times)

I don't think that would be a good idea. The larger the player-base, the better for this kinds of open world servers. Doing this would split the potential players to two groups playing on a different world
wow this is exactly the reason that badspot doesn't like people hosting v20 servers

I agree with Jorgur's point on the thread i made
This would have been a reasonable argument a year ago, but these days the community already seems to be very much split in two. I think this project would help reduce the tension between the two parts. If you like v21, play v21. If you like the old Blockland, you will have an alternative.

I got a recent idea. Whenever we finish the mod and it's playable, why not have one server with this type of generated terrain and then another one with hand-built terrain only smaller? Sounds like a good idea to me.

That way, those who are picky can choose between the two.
If there are going to be 2 servers, I would like one to be a large map with terrain, and the other to be a city with all enter-able buildings and skyscrapers.

ehhh...
Well we will only have a max player count of about 20, until I get donations for a better server or pay from my own pocket. So I think both servers should fit that much?

I like this idea. I could imagine a really big city and just tons of buildings everywhere.

Bump, we fixed two major bugs: Server crashing whenever someone died, and bricks not loading completely.

Remaining bugs: Making names invisible, laying down while passed out, picking up passed out people, fixing zombie spawns (?), making zombies actually attack you aggressively.

Closed beta is almost here 8)

I will edit the OP once closed beta has started.

i was expecting an acm city where you're given guns that p much kill zombies in 2-5 hits but then the tank kills everyone

So pretty much closed beta is a go. We tested yesterday and it seems playable so far. Not really any bugs aside from issues with some moodle images disappearing or flashing, and passing out is a bit weird. We will probably test again later today but with backpacks and possibly other stuff added. Will furthermore keep this topic informed and probably post pictures of gameplay tomorrow. Maybe even a video.

Can't wait for this and even the pictures/videos of gameplay.

8 Minute Closed Beta Preview

Keep in mind this is just a playable version of the mod. We still plan on adding more things to the build and the mod whenever we are ready for open beta.

I wonder if it will be easy to survive. I like for it to be challenging

Is that Fallout music I spy?

That's a really nice touch.
-Still excited for it.

forget me for reading descriptions

Question though, will there be some form of map, or will you need to memorize the location of everything?

EDIT: Noticed the project zomboid bobbles, also a nice touch.

This is the only map we've got atm

Obnasious is trying to make a pixel one though, but if someone tried to draw it pixel-by-pixel it would take around 65,000 pixels :I
Making a simple map for those interested. Wish me luck on the 65536 pixels I have to hand draw.
Every 32x32 is one pixel. This enables the map to be a snug 256x256, while still holding information.
The pink parts are towns that are not layed out yet, and towns that may be cut from the final product.
Later, I will multiply the image by 10 and add the town names and such to it. This will be after the towns and names are decided, of course.
The map will be updated on this post as I work on it.

9/21/14 8:53 EST - Border and minor water channels mapped.
This is also outdated. He has an updated one, he just hasn't edited his post.

wowe i don't get love? :(

so whose pee pee do i have to tickle to join the testing
