Author Topic: Why RTB going be Shutdown?  (Read 87196 times)

If this means the message system is going, then all I can say is
What
The
forget
That was the best part, now how our we supposed to communicate out of server so list our friends or see who is playing!?

But we never learned about pirate scallywag mode

Maybe it made you appear offline to others?

steam

steam
We were promised we wouldnt have to use steam if we dont want to

why does rtb have to be shut down? is it going to be rebuilt from the ground up?

RTB Connect is down
RIP my beloved.

One of two options:

1. RTB gets rolled into regular Blockland as the big feature of v22 (~5% chance)
1. "Durr steam lets you do all teh stuff so u dont need rtb" (~95% chance)

But some of us don't want to use the bloated sack of orca stuff that's Steam, especially on a Mac where the stuff is 10x smellier.

Hell, I'd pay for a subscription to RTB. Maybe like $1/mo. It's just too loving useful.

No, it's going down forever. Read the thread.

Then don't use it. Use the forums for mods. Use skype for chat. All this stuff is optional.

And you still don't have to.

It makes the experience so much better to have everything integrated as one.

Man I had a bunch of friends on there.

or you can use the forums like every other human being?
stupid-ass comment. actually put some thought into what you say before you say it.

RTB auto-posts add-ons to the forums. there are MANY users who use RTB to download add-ons in game directly. not "every human being" uses the forums.

the RTB listings section has 124 pages since 2009
the main forums has 124 pages since 2008
there is more active content on RTB than there is on the forums.
all of the RTB links on the RTB listings work. There isn't a single dead link. This is not true for all of the downloads on the forums directly. Many of them have dead links. There are also numerous topics for the same add-on due to the "too dead" limit. RTB posts an update when your add-ons are updated.

RTB add-ons all use the same format. I don't have to go on a scavenger hunt to find the download button. There's no "wait 10 seconds until you download" or "watch the ad and type in Ford to continue!".

People can update their add-ons on RTB and I don't have to come here to check for a new version. RTB informs me of an update.

I can choose not to use RTB and still download RTB add-ons. I can still download add-ons without having to download/run RTB.

$20(not really) says that this is just a joke or something

Steam workshop is unmoderated. I could easily post an addon containing only 93 characters and have all the player's addons deleted and their blockland crashed.

I would be banned, yes, but that's besides the point. Steam workshop sucks ass.

I guess you are right.
Well I bet you someone like port is gonna figure out how to make a new Add-On system.
