uninstall chrome
malwarebytes scan again
reboot
install chrome

tada you're winner

why do i always see you recommend malwarbytes

Dont do that yet.
Literally everyone I've ever encountered that needs help with something like this are too stupid to go through any of the basic adware removal steps. I give up immediately, back up their important documents, and reinstall their operating system because there's probably another hundred problems from them being careless with using cnet installers or any of that bullstuff.

why do i always see you recommend malwarbytes

because it gets the frigging job done

Format your hard drive and don't install stuffware this time.
lolno

Install AdwCleaner.

Avast browser cleanup

Thanks guys! It appears to have cleaned itself up. I'll leave this open for any other people who have problems like this to use the thread as a piggyback until it dies.

Wait, you followed our steps?

I feel good for helping, but was it that easy?

OP, next time use common sense.

I don't like that way Planr worded that honestly.

As in the programs you guys recommended worked. I did the AdwCleaner and re-installed Chrome and now the problem is fixed!

Oh ok, well that's good. What did AdwCleaner say it detected anyhow?
