Author Topic: Cloudflare is actually helping?  (Read 2038 times)

Im not sure about this, but I have noticed that the downtimes get shorter, is Cloudflare really that good?
Have you noticed this too?

I don't even think we're being DDoSed anymore. I think it's just the system repeatedly hiccuping and tripping over its own shoelaces.

That might be it, too.
Though I´ve noticed, when MoR confirmed his attack after Cloudflare, it lasted for about 5 mins.

I keep getting 520/522/524 errors.

It tells me I can still view a cached version of the forums in the downtime...
It would be great if it cached the other boards other than the main page.

yeah
this is the same idea I used to have for an offline browser
it basically saves the whole Internet

You do realise what you said is like the dumbest thing I've ever heard, right?
That was a joke... Right?

no but obviously you can't save the whole Internet

I was about to think you were just that smart.

I'm not very experienced at this, but couldn't you download a file of the most recent topics on this forum? Like the first 5 pages of every board. I know downloading the whole forum would take forever, so just keep it to those five pages.

Nonono, MoR found some bypasser and is taking down the forum for a couple of seconds, not really an annoyance though

With CloudFlare it can take some time for all the website to be crawled and content cached throughout the CDN. Especially with a forum the size of this, give it some time. :)

CloudFlare seems to be loving awesome.

If only we could also protect the main servers like so.
I'm getting tired of sitting on my ass because the launcher is unable to play offline mode and Steam doesn't recognize an install that's not in the main directories (mine is on a flash drive).

Cloudflare does not help us physically, but in spirit.
