You guys need to take a step back and look at the big picture here. Tiny, easily worked around torque script issues don't really effect anyone at all.
The problem is that the cool content that is already created never gets into the hands of players. SCP containment breach, cool how do I play that? Titanic build - cool, how do I see that? What about that awesome castle someone made once, you know that one? Oh that guy who made it died and took all his save files with him? Ok. This is the problem.
They're not always two separate issues. Anyone remember this one?
Seriously though, I'm completely redoing Elevators for several reasons (adding event integration, removing scheduled transforms, etc.). I have some very neat ideas for how to change things up, but something in the engine has to be fixed before I can proceed. I assure I'll post something once I'm able to work on this. You can stop asking about it.
Sometimes content is held back just because the author doesn't think it's in a state to give to the general public. I've had a playertype with custom animations on Pecon's server for years, which I don't want to release because A. It crashes people when they're connecting with no apparent way to solve it, and B. Duplicating m.dts in its entirety is just an awful method for adding new animations to a player, which is also the reason I haven't made any more despite numerous ideas that would have made use of such a feature. I was hoping that topic for adding animations would improve over time, but instead it just died out.
It would be nice if we at least had some section of the forum to suggest changes to the base game and explain what improvements they'd offer. The current suggestions and requests forum is primarily used for things the mod makers can handle, add-on requests, and the like. Maybe a subsection of coding help, moderated to throw out random kids barging in with suggestions that the community can tackle, or crazy ideas that'd take an absurd amount of effort to implement. Then you could just cherry pick the ones that seem easy or would provide the most benefit to the game.
