It's kind of a tricky subject.

I would travel to a time before the industrial revolution, then I would probably try to act smart and futuristic and then die of dysentery.

Oh Night Fox, so selfless of you to sacrifice your own life for human advancement. I couldn't do that, 1950 would suck to live in. Not to mention that they'd probably be unable to even study the tech you brought back seeing as they don't have any of the required equipment to deal with electronics.
