life in general is good
until you add humanity into the equation
Riddler, stalin, Flash Mob, genocide, rape, slavery, war.
That's all people?

People DO suck. Pretty badly actually. If rather than "Yeah, Americuh' RAWKS bro!" people said "Humanity is awesome! Go Earth! Go entire human species!" people would be more tolerable. If instead of separate continents and countries feeling more like gangs, then yes, human-kind would be so much more tolerable. But that's not the case, and we're debating how hypocritical it is to say everything about life is good EXCEPT people.
you're looking at the worsts of humanity and then saying that is how humans act. you should look at both sides of the spectrum of 'good' and 'bad'
i suggest reading a book called The Giver. it's pretty short too, about 170 pages long.

Could sum up a lot of people's viewpoints on life

I like investigating the historical accounts of the Bible and matching it up with current landmarks/discovered works.  I also came to this really odd but amazing realization:

During the Flood described in the Bible, the Earth from outer space would look like Neptune.

i don't

but if i did, it would probably be the bronies

Don't. There is no reason to.

love spaceballs, love you for posting that

>have to put report in by 5 or I don't get paid (over $1000)
>try to report, cant answer properly because of circumstances
>report denied, call up to clear it up
>70 minute call wait list
>phone battery decides to forget up for the first time ever 8 minutes before I got called back and turns itself off
>realize, fix phone, turn on to find 4 voicemails
>have to sit through setting up my whole god damn voice mail before I can even hear them
>voicemail ends with would you like to call back
>say yes
>"we cant call them back"
>try calling again
>line busy every time
>have to leave in an hour
>all their services are shut down for the next few days for maintenance
>call again just then
>put on hold for 20 mins
>chuck it in my pocket cause im pissin
>phone hangs up despite not being able to unless the screen is opened and then the end call button is pressed
>call again
>out of credit
forget everything.

All of this is of course happening before I do my interview and 3 hour trial of working in a busy restaurant in town for the dinner rush on valentines day.
This is why school shootings happen.

The acts of the few do not outweigh the many
More often than not there are very few "good" people, and even they have dark sides
I don't care who you are. Everyone has a little bad in them. Maybe disrespect for authority, maybe you think women belong at home, maybe blacks should've stayed slaves. Does that make you bad? Not necissarily. Does it make it wrong? Possibly.
There are acts of kindness, and there are acts of evil, but it is notoriously much easier to be evil than to be kind.
Take for example batman and joker. Depending on how you interpret the universe, they are the same exact person, twins almost, but chaos vs righteousness. Joker hardly loses anything, batman loses everything. Women, children, friends, family. Joker laughs and shrugs it all off.
Ending a life takes the pull of a trigger
Saving a life requires trained medical personal who have gotten years of schooling

I'm not denying there is good in the world, contrary, I try to be a part of it (I'm an Eagle Scout, it's my civic duty to not be an ass, as stated by the 4 letters I've gotten from state officials who are also Eagle Scouts). You can clean up trash, do service work, feed the hungry, but in the end things always fall down faster than they go back up.

Could sum up a lot of people's viewpoints on life
It's also a quite accurate summary of what happens in Blockland Space RP's. Lol

    • Is the only religion capable of making ANYONE uncomfortable, moreso than any other religion
Wait, why is this a good thing?

That's because you aren't addressing the mental aspect.

    Metaphorically speaking:
Keep trying to make a stone float on a lake will cause it to fail every time.  It's easier to put it on a piece of wood, but it will eventually fall off.  Draining the lake will ensure there's no water to sink the rocks, but it requires much more effort.

Things will always keep falling out of place until the mental aspect is addressed.

I respect planr's decision to be a christian and all but the fact that he just said "advanced monkeys" suggests he doesn't actually understand evolution. :/
I think it was a hyperbole rather than an observation.

Depression, unfairness, and too many god damn people who want to control other people's thoughts, lives, and tell you what is wrong and right.

That sums it up mainly. I don't want to go into detail though.

    people suck

i would love to wander around for all eternity in an empty world that continues in the same general manner it does now

    Sometimes I hate it....Sometimes I don't.
Whenever I'm depressed, I always think what God is thinking.

    I imagine him saying:
"What do you mean you're depressed? What do you mean you don't like yourself? It took me so long to make you though!" In just a kind voice.

    Then I cheer up c:
