glass is, believe it or not, cheaper than plastic. Which is possibly why it is used instead of a more durable material like plexiglass or fine quality plastic

well then america is about the dumbest nation in the world cos we are literally giving them our money and natural resources in return for cheap, "made in china" products.

I dont read the news but I havnt noticed any real threats from china. I think we are mainly against those darn middle eastern countries and korea.

We exchange raw materials with them in exchange for cheap labor costs to send back manufactured goods brought about by a large workforce and lack of safety regulation.

Modern cheap labor in Asia and other poor regions is our modern slavery. To give us and Europe a high quality of life these people have been being exploited for hundreds of years. It's a common trend in human history that the toil of many has been used to support and uplift the privileged few. Whether you think this is right or wrong is a different discussion but it is alive and well in modern life, but the general quality of life for even the poor has increased.

And the United States Navy is in the process of repositioning our fleet to have a larger presence in the Pacific. That is definitely a sign that China is a bigger looming threat than Russia or anyone else at the moment.

The fact that we aren't in an active war with them doesn't mean we aren't hostile. We weren't engaged in a traditional war with the USSR and you wouldn't say we weren't enemies.

the cheap qualities do not entirely lie with the chinese and their paychecks. It is also because the product designed to be made cheap. Although the workers can choose the amount of effort they put into making the product, they cant change the things the product are made out of.
