"Omg I dropped my iphone once and now I cant even see my texts because the screen has so many cracks in it!"
that's because it's made out of glass which is, like it or not, a staple of good build quality

do you have any idea how much that would affect the economy
no I actually dont. I prolly should have thought about that a little more.

my knowledge of economics is not all that good, so I may be incorrect.

The fact that they work for cheap is just wrong.

"Oh man, our own countrymen have minimum wages and demand good pay? Rediculous! Let's move our jobs toward people who we could pay one dollar an hour for hard work!"
how old are you

the german armies didn't actually really kill civilians when they entered russian cities. in fact quite the opposite, many tried to help them out
the ss squads or whatever they were called, who specially trained to execute civilians, did do it
and actually im certain that the massacres of russian civilians was way, way worse than the holocause in terms of numbers

that's because it's made out of glass which is, like it or not, a staple of good build quality
A product of good quality does not mean that it must be made of the finest materials regardless if those materials will survive repeated intended use and occasional unintended mistreatment.
glass is, believe it or not, cheaper than plastic. Which is possibly why it is used instead of a more durable material like plexiglass or fine quality plastic

objects are built with obsolescence in mind

they want you to forget your stuff up or bring out the newest version so that way you're forced to give them more money

w-whats this steinberg? t-these goyim know that the national socialists w-weren't evil dog-eating babykillers?

SHUT IT DOWN

well then america is about the dumbest nation in the world cos we are literally giving them our money and natural resources in return for cheap, "made in china" products.

I dont read the news but I havnt noticed any real threats from china. I think we are mainly against those darn middle eastern countries and korea.
We exchange raw materials with them in exchange for cheap labor costs to send back manufactured goods brought about by a large workforce and lack of safety regulation.

Modern cheap labor in Asia and other poor regions is our modern slavery. To give us and Europe a high quality of life these people have been being exploited for hundreds of years. It's a common trend in human history that the toil of many has been used to support and uplift the privileged few. Whether you think this is right or wrong is a different discussion but it is alive and well in modern life, but the general quality of life for even the poor has increased.

And the United States Navy is in the process of repositioning our fleet to have a larger presence in the Pacific. That is definitely a sign that China is a bigger looming threat than Russia or anyone else at the moment.

The fact that we aren't in an active war with them doesn't mean we aren't hostile. We weren't engaged in a traditional war with the USSR and you wouldn't say we weren't enemies.

which seems to me to be more evidence that the word "cheap" is favored in the industrial world more than the word "quality"

I also realize that products could be made with the exact same "cheapness" in the U.S.A as they are in china. But atleast there would be more jobs for us.

so like most threads on blf, this topic has been derailed and might aswell have the topic title changed. I cant even remember what the OP was asking, brb

they're cheap because we don't have to pay the people nearly as much to make them

the cheap qualities do not entirely lie with the chinese and their paychecks. It is also because the product designed to be made cheap. Although the workers can choose the amount of effort they put into making the product, they cant change the things the product are made out of.

I dont understand, I dont believe ive seen the movie that this is from.

no, cheap, as in how much they cost

There is a really good movie called "into the white" that has a similar plot to what OP was talking about
