What's this thread about?
Just post any experiences you've had in an arcade. It doesn't have to be a "ARCADE" arcade, just something like Dave & Busters or an ordinary place with arcade machines will do.

Today, I watched LEGO Movie. Why is this relevant you say? The place I go to, the Ronnies 20 Cine (werenberg's), has a pretty rad arcade. When I went there to play DDR, I noticed something. It errored out. I can't remember the error code (121?), but it was a cassette error. I don't know what that is, but I guess it's the security cassette? The game cassette? Eh.

Anyways, walked up to the counter, asked the girl at the counter if I could unplug it and plug it in, and I did. This was the actual first time I watched a arcade machine boot that wasn't PACMAN, so it was pretty cool. Went through some boot checks, loaded the game, and it was confusing how to see the loading percent maxed at 250. Doesn't it usually end at 100?

Anyways, after I got it fixed, told my Dad. However, after he finished talking to a person he used to work with at the theater (who still works there), WE HAD TO LEAVE.

Really got my hopes up, then crushed. Was really going to try and practice, but I couldn't. Eh, maybe I'll try again after Friday ends. Or just go to Tee Time or Swing-A-Round Fun Town.

Also the DDR was Dance Dance Revolution Extreme.

Anyways, post some experiences you've had with arcade machines/arcades.

I remember going to chuck e cheese's once and going super saiyan on every game except the loving BASKETBALL

also very entertaining. i jumped into a terminator game with some random dude and we kicked ass lol

i went to a bowling alley once and it had MARVEL VS CAPCOM 2 YAAAAY

...but the 1P side was busted, and by the time I lost so I could go to 2P, I had to leave

i hate it when i go to play time crCIA and the gun recoil does not work so it makes the game no fun.

new story from last summer:

We got a new Dave & Busters in Virginia Beach, Summer 2013. We ate, and the first thing we did was go to the arcade. The first thing I tried (for some reason) was a coin drop machine called "Pharoah's Curse", or another name I can't remember.

There was only ONE THING that was good about it: It had a huge payout. Either that or my family is way too skilled at it. Every second I almost got a bonus, or another payout thing. I always got the coins to drop too, because they were always piled up at the end. Which is pretty awesome.

Also, here's another experience:
Tried In The Groove 2 at Tee Time, and brought my USB. Somehow I passed the novice difficulty of Dash Hopes 2 (from Tachyon Alpha pack), but didn't pass Infinite (by derangedkitten from stepmix 3 finals). Was pretty cool, and finally got to play on one.

c'mon more stories are good

I played BlazBlue and Melty Blood on arcade cabinets in Singapore and had no clue what I was doing.

The end.
