probably having the trait didn't cause too much of an adverse effect

I mean, I think it used to be that you would just reproduce anyway so humans would survive, but now we don't have a need for that anymore

There's tons of conditions that exist that provide a negative affect towards survival, some in large population percentages. They still exist.
But I read somewhere, someone offered a possible explanation for this: Homoloveuality could be a recessive characteristic, while heterozygous individuals having some sort of advantage over the homozygous dominant. This would be the same as sickle cell anemia: heterozygousity for it gives a resistance against malaria.
There's also the idea that a small percentage of homoloveuality provides a protection against overpopulation
There's also plenty of homos who force themselves to live in a hetero relationship and have had children

I'm against all forms of bullstuff.  Yes, social justice warrior snowflake-ism is bullstuff - but so is dismissing whole classes of loveual preference as a unnatural mental illnesses.  I'd like to think there's a healthy middle ground somewhere between tumblr and the westboro baptist church.

Whether loveual orientation is entirely physiological or not is still up for debate, but I like the idea that it shouldn't really matter and people should be allowed to do whatever they want in the bedroom as long as it's safe, sane, and consensual.
