Tips to win arguments?

It's all in delivery. If you can make a claim sound legit enough, people will buy it.
Kinda depends heavily on topic too.
Just don't sound like your pulling stuff from your ass.

(we still don't know what side we are doing)
Well first off, pick a subject that you actually care about enough to have a side

Just give em' the ol' HUXTABLE STARE

Head, we are doing the debate of 'the right to bear arms.'

Just do not know if we are con or pro.

My teacher keeps talking on and on about delivery, and I know that, but I would like to know how to edge into their argument and make them use their time explaining...

Oh, question, how do you actually win? Do you just impress the judges or do you have to actually get points by "disproving" an argument in the rebuttal.

tell them that their opinion doesn't matter and your right and they're wrong

works every time :cookieMonster:

Disproving may work the most in my opinion. You will most likely draw the other team to your side.

Or you can do what Epicduke said.

wh-

draw the other team to your side

dude what are you talking about the other team wants to win

What I mean is sometimes in debates if you have enough proof of the right to bear arms debate you might win because the other time may not have anything to question about the proof.

I suck at describing things :/

Or you can just get C4 and blow them up if all else fails.

???
I told you so...

But you can also try to look into older debates and see what the winning team did to win. You'll most likely win with enough research in your mind unless the other team has an unusually smart person who deserves to be in a high ranking college.
