Show him how he's wrong by addressing the logic of his cognition. He doesn't believe that you can be born gay. Bring up some articles that contradict that.
This information has been widely available, and easily accessible, for years. People that don't care enough to educate themselves about a particular subject shouldn't expect to have their thoughts on the subject taken seriously.
As for the OP, I wish you luck. Honestly, you should have found out what her stance on homoloveuality is before proceeding. Optimistically, I'd say if you have no clue what it is, chances are it's probably not a strong stance either way.
