Author Topic: flash flooding  (Read 1206 times)

so any of you had any experience with it? ive dealt with storm surges, but never flash floods. im guessing its similar. because i just got an alert. it was super loving loud like an alarm, and it said there was a warning in my neighborhood

I remember once it was raining quite a bit and it seemed like there was a bunch of water on the ground but I was only 5 so it probably wasn't that much.

california right? it's pouring! it's like seattle! assuming the stereotype is true!

My home was destroyed in 1997 by a flood. I was too young at the time so I don't remember it.

Sandbag your house man.

Yeah... right now its 1 inch per hour which is kinda a lot

for those who paint there's also a neat technique that you can do
random but yeah
anyways if you put dabs of paint and then stick it flat (held down by something heavy on the corners) somewhere outside while its raining you'll get some nice effects!

anywaying the anyways it's not as bad here as it is wherever you are
still raining but its more varied
when i was outside i swore that this wind would be able to pick me up if i just opened up my dress shirt and held the sides open it was crazy
and it hasn't rained much recently so it's a fun time
in the phillippines you'd go and have a great afternoon outside running around the backyard

Well, Buenos Aires has been under some storms some weeks ago and tons of people died and got hit by lighting and stuff.
Glad I wasnt there, though I don't live near the zone where that happened.

Its been raining for the last two days out here in Rancho Cucamonga, ruined my plans to go skating. Not to mention a branch on a tree snapped right next to my window.

what's stopping you? the wind should be both an experimental advantage and disadvantage!
although uhh
you might catch a cold out there ;c

I always make sure my storm drain was clear. Got my clothes drying as we speak.

My town (Cedar Rapids) got flooded out in 2008. My neighborhood was far away from the affected zone though.

I remember here in NY, we were flooded badly in 2012 during Sandy. If you are above ground in an apartment building, you shouldn't worry.

Roads are like 10ft underwater every spring here.

back in 07 a home 3 doors down snapped off its foundation colliding with another home triggering a domino effect of houses sliding down the street. my roof caved in and if i hadn't had a bunkbed i would have had a very bad day.

i wonder what a flood is like
