Author Topic: [Petition] Maximum penalty for Missouri teenagers caught beating dog in viral vi  (Read 7207 times)

I'll bet this happened in North County unless South City is included here.

i understand about 1 week minimum or 3 months maximum makes sense, but a DEATH sentence?

Thats just loving illogical, i mean animal abuse is loving terrible as it is, but that wasn't even the worst crime ever.

we'll they're pretty much bound to be murderers anyways, might as well not save the trouble for when they grow up lol
and this doesn't have anything to do with the death sentence

This petition is anti-productive. You don't need a courtroom if you will just let the majority of uneducated citizens decide their sentence. I think it's awful what they did, but they shouldn't be sentenced differently because they went viral. The jury and court will feel obligated to give them a harsh sentence, to make an example of them for the rest of the world, but this isn't fair to any of the parties involved.

Honestly, what is more important, the fate of the dog that has been taken away, or the fate of the two teenagers?

They never said death.

The maximum penalty for animal abuse is certainly not death.

yes, this ^

I think those teenagers do deserve the maximum punishment for animal abuse because seeing as how they were laughing and intentionally did it, it makes the crime even worse

>implying there is such a thing as unintentional animal abuse

It's not for death.

You don't need a courtroom

Any kind of animal abuse should have a harsh ending. Especially if you post it online, showing the world how you're doing it intentionally and that you're actually having fun doing it!

They deserve community service and counseling at worst. The maximum punishment is six years in jail. You'd be taking away their entire childhood for a stupid mistake.

Let me explain this better for the younger ones in this thread;

This is not for death, it's to give them maximum punishment for animal abuse. Surely you would want them to go away for life if it was your dog they were having fun hurting? Let's keep in mind that they were laughing while hurting the dog, there is something really, really wrong with them and they need help. Personally I would agree with them getting 5 years or more for this, while receiving some sort of help for whatever is wrong with them.

The problem with a lot of people these days is they don't think before they do. They just act. But anyone that does something like that, or even takes part in that knockout game most certainly needs to seek medical help because there is something wrong going on there.

Hardly a mistake. They were doing it for fun.

Don't change the subject.

Don't change the subject.

Not changing the subject, simply pointing out the problem with most people that causes problems like this.

might i remind people that animals are just property? there is very little addon punishments just because its an animal.
the crime would have been worse had it not been his own dog. because that would be stealing or destruction or property.

idiots think animals = people lol

Hardly a mistake. They were doing it for fun.

It's still stupid to send two kids to spend the rest of their childhood in jail over animal abuse.
