Author Topic: Is it worth it to buy a 3DS?  (Read 7380 times)

It's incredibly hard playing games with just ONE joystick. Then you have to cash out extra money for the second joystick and it barely works for games that even use it.
worked fine for gamecube

I've compared my sisters 3DS to my other sisters 3DSXL and I have to say that the XL is infinitely superior, not just because the screen is bigger but because it's much more comfortable to hold. I could use the XL for hours on end without the palms of my hands aching but I get ache after using the regular 3DS for an hour or two.

Might not be a factor for you if you have hands with more fat on them than a skeleton, though :V.

I recommend the 2DS over the 3DS. The 3D effect is kinda buggy and very headache educeing. Anyways the 2DS is 100 dollars cheaper and still plays the games at the same quality.
The 3d is more refined with the xl, i own one and im glad i got the xl over the regular and 2ds.

You can play Pocket Monsters on it so yeah totally

I've heard the 3DS has a really tiny thin 3D screen that cracks almost instantly from a light drop. You also get terrible eye strain and the 3D isn't that great.
well you heard wrong because I keep accidentally dropping my 3DS on the floor about a metre down and it doesn't break

I'd recommend not trying to argue with or listen to Lord Tony since he is a fanboy and a troll. He has never used a 3DS and is just talking out of his ass.

Personally I think that the 3DS is a pretty great handheld system with a big library of good titles and if you're interested in Nintendo games i'd recommend it.

I got the Legend of Zelda 3DS XL and it is amazing, if you enjoy quality handheld gaming then the 3DS delivers

Vita all the way
Lord Tony, shut up, nobody asked for your opinions, and you're doing this to get a rise out of people.

Tony is well known as a 23-year-old assburger who does nothing all day except trolls people, so like i said before he should be ignored.

To me, a 3DS is definitely worth it for the first-party titles alone. I love mine. I've already sunk 200 hours into Pokemon X. And there are many more... Mario Kart 7, Animal Crossing: A New Leaf, Super Mario 3D Land, Bravely Default... So many good games. Also, Super Smash Bros will be coming out for it this year, which I am very excited for.

As for the model of 3DS, it really depends on your budget and what you need it to do. But if you do have the extra $30, I definitely advise you to get the XL model. It has better R/L buttons (the ones on the 3DS are exactly like the ones on the DSi, they are HORRIBLE.) It also has bigger screens, obviously. Another difference are the frontal SELECT/HOME/START buttons, which are now all individual buttons, rather than being compressed into one weird button. You might think portability is a problem, but it's really not too bad to just slip it into your front pocket. I wouldn't see myself running with the thing in my pocket, though. :)

If you want portability, buy a 3DS. If you want a cheaper device, just find a good used 3DS for about 80 bucks on Ebay or something. It's actually cheaper than buying a 2DS, and it still has all the features you want, like a folding screen.

The maker of this topic asked for opinions.

I'd go with the vita. Better graphics, better controls, PS4 support.
