Author Topic: SOPA IS BACK  (Read 4758 times)

Love the fact that you ignored the point of the post. And yes, I am a angsty teen, but atleast I'm a angsty teen who gives a forget about his internet.

What exactly was the point then? I thought you were saying everyone was a sheeple? Also not every activist is laughed at, I have no idea where you got that idea from. Pretty much everytime SOPA or PIPA or whatever comes around people protest against it. It's worked every time so far so I guess they weren't just laughed at. Unless you mean people laughing at internet petitions. Internet petitions are not really a form of activism. It's the laziest thing you can do if you want change.

Like I said before call and send letters to your local representative and your state's senators. Tell them that if they are for SOPA or PIPA or whatever that you won't vote for them. That's still lazy but it actually makes a difference. Getting others to do the same makes an even bigger difference.

I don't live in the U.S. so I don't know how the amendment thing works and don't understand how it relates to what I said.
Basically, the amendments say "OI, GOVERNMENT, YOU CANT DO STUPID stuff, K?" The government more-or-less has to oblige by the amendments, although we all know that if they really wanted, they could ignore them all completely, perform mass arrests, steal from citizens, and all kinds of other nasty stuff that makes them look like national socialist Germany. But the government tries not to ignore the amendments to much, otherwise the citizens will be like "Wait, what the forget? Our forefathers slapped the stuff outta' Brittan for doing this stuff! Fight back! forgetIN' MURICA!" And then the Government will have to send in the military, and other countries would just stare and laugh like loving maniacs, because they know they can get away with the same things.

Or, maybe I dont know what the forget I'm talking about. I probably dont.

Oi. Devildog. Its something, and something is better than nothing, right?

these petitions don't do anything
if it's a petition on the whitehouse.gov page, it does
if it reaches the needed amount of signatures the white house will consider it

if it's a petition on the whitehouse.gov page, it does
if it reaches the needed amount of signatures the white house will consider it
they'll consider it, but it doesn't cause any government action automatically

of course they are obligated to listen to the demands of citizens as U.S. government officials

if it's a petition on the whitehouse.gov page, it does
if it reaches the needed amount of signatures the white house will consider it

No it doesn't. Almost every single petition on there has been answered with "We'll think about it"

An internet petition is really not much better than nothing. I also still don't see how my other post didn't address you're stuffty "WAKE UP SHEEPLE" post. You're right, you don't know what you're talking about.

if it's a petition on the whitehouse.gov page, it does
if it reaches the needed amount of signatures the white house will consider it
"We acknowledge your attempt at telling us to do something but we don't give a forget" - every response to a petition on that site

Isn't this like the 4th or 5th time that the SOPA bill has came back again? It's crazy!

taken from an article on yahoo news.ca

why do they keep trying to pass their stupid bill.
this is like, the tenth time they tried.
"If you don't succeed try, try, try again."

"If you don't succeed try, try, try again."
"...until everyone forgets that you're still trying."

What the second amendment means isn't up for interpretation. It's really not that confusing, to be honest:

It's recognized in the amendment that a properly regulated militia is important, and states that regardless of the militia, the right to own and use firearms shall not be infringed.

You don't have to belong to a militia to have the right to own a firearm. Saying otherwise is misinterpreting the second amendment.
As far the 2nd amendment goes it was made for the purpose of allowing you to protect your property from any threat. You may keep any gun in your home. If you have kids, your firearm(s) has to be kept in a place where a kid cannot get to it(gun safe example). You also legal have a firearm with your at your business. You are also allowed to transport with you to a from a hunt, at the shooting range in your car in a locked box/truck.

"...until everyone forgets that you're still trying."
just like NADA

Second American Civil War, anyone?
Extraordinary rendition due to "conspiracy of terrorism", anyone?

This is the age where peoples' purchases can be spied on, even in the black market. Back in the first American civil war, there was no purchase spying.

If you purchase guns, recruit other people and tell them to recruit other people for a civil war, there is almost no doubt that you will disappear.

if this is real, wouldn't CNN be on it right about now?

these petitions don't do anything
If the signature goal is reached government is forced to review the petition.
