It's probably going to be.

I'd say this fad is annoying me but it's not really a fad.
It's just the easiest kind of graphics to make, so it's always going to be babbys first game.
That's perfectly fine and all, but you really shouldn't release babbys first games.

Also the people who think you need an engine for a 2d single player game are really amusing.
