Personally, I believe in the final prophecy in Revelation.  Most of the metaphorical language used in it I have translated into more realistic events though, including the worst earthquakes ever recorded, meteorites smashing to earth, etc.

I think it'll be a combination of ecological collapse and lack of resources.

By 100000 years humans probably wouldn't even be the same species however

I'm not sure we'll be all that different than we are today. There are no evolutionary pressures on us, since we've transcended the food chain and all, so for something to turn us into a new species would be incredible.

Well I would assume there be left overs and split species. At one point ants, wasps, and termites all evolved from one specie. Humans mostly likely came from gorillas and we still have gorillas today. So the human of today will be competeing with hybrids, new evolved humans, mutants, cyborgs, robots with a transferred conscious, ect and bunch of other crazy stuff.

Humans will make more and more technological (notably robots) which make life perfect.
Robots do all the work, money is not necessary anymore.
Food and all other necessities brought straight to people.
People become lazier and lazier and the world becomes like the life on the Axiom on Wall-E.
Reproduction gradually stops and people cannot walk due to bad habits.
People die off after a couple generations.
Robots have problems and shut down.
The universe has its way with the planet.
