i thought this was gonna be like
a thing
good coded with its own engine and stuff
good one guys
boy you sure do know how to read the last 2 pages, huh?

idk why you're saying GM is a lame engine, when plenty of decent or if not great games have been made using it

games such as Hyper Light Drifter, Nuclear Throne, Samurai Gunn, and Nidhogg were all made in Game Maker Studio

there are also plenty of other great games that were made using the older versions of Game Maker, like super crate box, the iconoclasts, and Momodora I and II

just sayin the engine is underrated and I think you should continue using it rather than using some barebone language for such a simple and pointless game

you forgot hotline miami

you forgot hotline miami
yeah that too

my point still stands btw

Something that's bothering me: What is forum island?

I heard it a while ago on this thread, but google didn't know stuff.

It has nothing to do with this at all. It's a forum adventure made by Legoboss that you can read on the topic that says "Thief Unit."

:^D
Where was it mentioned?
Anyways, it was a adventure that I made awhile ago, and if you go to Thief Unit in community projects, and look through the first 100 or so pages, you can read it.

this is what I mean, also thanks for telling me.

pefu, wrapper is working on his own engine at the moment

it'll be made eventually don't worry, we're gonna do the art as we go

Instead of reinventing the wheel, why not just use Unity 2D?  You can program in either Javascript or C# (or Boo, Unity's weird language).  They have particle effects, physics, music, sound effects, animation, ..basically everything you would need or want in a 2D game.
Not to mention you can avoid the restraints that Gamemaker has

Hm, well Unity does also.  But I understand what your saying.

I guess me and my completely functional engine with physics, dynamic lighting, JSON spritesheet/level system, and other stuff wasn't enough?
Alright, good luck.
