How long should they be dating for?

How old should they be when they marry?

Should the man propose to the woman?

Should the man blow his life savings on a ring?

1. Long enough
2. Old enough
3. Probably
4. Definitely. Jewelry cases are the world's first remote control, you know.

depends.
depends.
depends.
depends.

i'm not going to throw my life away to keep someone happy unless they do their half

There shouldn't be limits on marriage. True marriage is when both love each other to the point that they want to spend their lives together. Materials shouldn't be a requirement to get married. Nor should age. It all depends on how much you love and trust eachother.

Where's the option for "marriage doesn't work."
Over 60% of marriages end as failures, it's not a system worth investing into anymore.

Whats the point of marriage? If you love each other than just don't leave them. No need to have to go through a ton of stuff just to leave them if things go wrong.

How long should they be dating for?
I'd say 2 years.  I don't get a choice because it's kinda forced to be long distance for another 6 years or so, but I'd say that after almost 2 years with my girlfriend, we are both open to the idea and committed to each other.

How old should they be when they marry?
Well, ultimately when you are ready and able to take the marriage seriously and not be an inhibition to each others' goals and aspirations.

Should the man propose to the woman?
Yes.  However, if the man is a spineless moron then either that relationship shouldn't realistically be happening, or the woman should propose.

Should the man blow his life savings on a ring?
I think it depends on the partner to which you are proposing.  If they don't care for fanciness, but an affordable (but quality) ring.  If they like extravagance, be sure to meet their expectations.

pretty much, theres no benifets to doing it other than throwing a big party and gloating (And having love if you're muslim)

Marriage is only for mature people who can keep a relationship alive because they are smart. If you're an idiot you breed outside of it and break up quickly later. So its not really marriages fault, only yours.  :cookieMonster:

Idk if I'll get married but I might want to in the future. My dad was 19 and mom was 20 when they were married and I was born about 13 months later. They dated for about a year I think.

May I see your source for this statistic?
